Are we a fit for you?
The best advice we can give you on selecting a martial arts style or dojo is to visit the location.
Look for the following criteria to help decide if any dojo is a good fit for you:
Style/type of martial art
Instructor's mannerisms, approach to helping students (experienced and new)
Rank: why does the dojo use belt colors?
Class format
Student attitudes, including before and after class
Monthly cost compared to other nearby martial arts classes
The dojo environment itself; what message(s) does it convey?
Does the dojo permit visitors and/or one-time participation?
We are very happy to answer questions if you would like to

. You are also welcome to visit us at Enso Aikido dojo, and determine if we are a good fit for you and/or your family. We are proud to have an excellent retention rate and are heartened that our classmates are wonderful people to train with, and just plain ol' good folks in general.
Please don't hesitate to stop by and see for yourself.
Are we worth it? Really?
I sent a request to current/past students to get their help for this page. I asked for a short blurb about what they think of our dojo and group as a whole, and this is what I got back in reply.
My thanks to the group for helping us out!
Statements from Members
Aikido is an art for all time, all ages, both genders, and does not require that you have to be a super athlete...[Our instructors] have also shown us how to apply Aikido to our everyday life...I think it is the perfect martial art form... -- senior student
[Enso] dojo was a bless for me. During my exchange year in USA I always felt welcome in the dojo. I just loved 'messing around' with the guys there. It is really nice when u can meet so many warm, wonderful and open people in one place and get a sense of aikido and start trying to get it through. Aikido class was an event I always looked forward to and tried not to miss any. -- A.K (we miss you A.K.!)
When I started Aikido with this dojo about a year ago, I was simply looking for an interesting way to keep fit and learn a little self defense. I got so much more than what I bargained for. My patience and self confidence have improved dramatically. It is great to train in a friendly and familial atmosphere. -- K. D. Sefton
Aikido has taught me and helped me to move better. Even with a black belt in Kempo, i far improved my ability to move and deal with multiple opponents here... -- C.K.
From the first time I stepped into the dojo, I was impressed by the friendly and supportive atmosphere and the emphasis on mutual training, with the more advanced students always willing to help those at the lower end of the learning curve. Each can advance at his or her own pace and within the limits of his or her own abilities. The instructors are dedicated, professional and patient. I came for the physical training and discovered a philosophy of balance and harmony that has been of great value to me, personally and professionally. --SteveD
I like Aikido because it has taught me to keep calm in stressful situations - whether it be on the mat or in "real life." When I go to the classes, it always puts me in a great mood, no matter what it was when I walked in the doors. It has also helped tremendously with my reflexes, and makes me more aware of what is taking place around me. I highly recommend Aikido to anyone. -- C.P.
Our Guiding Principles
The mission of Enso Aikido Dojo is the promotion of aikido not only as a martial art and method of self-defense, but also to demonstrate to members and the community how aikido can postiviely affect your day-to-day life.
We will provide quality instruction, in a variety of martial arts that are known to be beneficial, and not for the sake of sport. Each class and art taught will complement, in its own way, your daily life, and philosophies/outlook on anything the world has to offer.
We will also provide a safe environment to practice in, and treat members with respect and have fun, as we would like to see our members do to us and others. Instructors are dedicated to their martial art of study, not just as a hobby, but as a passion.
